Marie Conteh Builds Health-and-Wealth Advocacy for Caregivers and Entrepreneurs in 2026

Marie Conteh is being recognized in GLEBM’s Audacious 30: Women Shaping 2026 for a leadership journey defined by persistence, discernment, and a clear message she continues to repeat with conviction: “Your good health is your greatest asset.”
Conteh, a healthcare entrepreneur and home care agency owner, shared that one of her boldest moments came early in her business growth when she secured only her second client after waiting two years. Instead of treating the opportunity casually, she drove five hours one way to conduct the assessment, emphasizing that the distance did not matter because she understood what that client represented in a season of waiting and building.
Her journey has also included hard lessons in business relationships. Conteh identified one of her most difficult obstacles as a short-lived partnership that lasted less than two months after what she described as multiple red flags became undeniable. She credits God for helping her exit quickly, explaining that the situation involved clear evidence of injustice and an attempt to push her out of a business she had built for seven years.
In 2026, Conteh continues to emphasize leadership built on collaboration and inclusion. She explained that when leading projects, she assesses the strengths and weaknesses of each person on the team so she can delegate effectively while also encouraging feedback, ensuring that every participant feels valued and able to contribute.
Her motivation, she shared, is closely tied to health, including her own recovery after testing positive for COVID-19 in 2021 and her daughter’s two separate knee injuries in college basketball that required surgery in both her junior and senior years. Conteh stated that these experiences strengthened her gratitude and reinforced her commitment to wellness as a foundation for purpose and progress.
Conteh also spoke candidly about a period when she “hid behind the curtain,” choosing silence out of concern that people would misunderstand her goals or project opinions that conflicted with her vision. She later shifted her mindset, explaining that she wants to leave a legacy defined by the problems she solved and the lives she impacted, rather than allowing outside voices to interfere with her calling.
As part of her ongoing work, Conteh is the author of the self-care journal Reset, Recharge & Restore, and she continues encouraging women to “own your voice, ideas, and health,” while staying focused on meaningful impact one woman at a time.
