Dr. Sharon S. Lewis has been recognized in GLEBM Magazine’s International Women’s Day 2026 Special Digital Edition as one of the Audacious Women Shaping 2026, honoring her groundbreaking leadership journey and global impact in executive development.
Featured under the headline, “Audacity Isn’t About Having Everything You Need; It’s About Moving Forward Anyway,” Dr. Lewis’ story highlights the bold decisions and defining lessons that shaped her career as a Leadership Strategist, Executive Coach, and President and CEO of the award-winning BE LED Group.
At just 30 years old, Dr. Lewis founded the first African American–owned multisite outpatient neurological rehabilitation company in the United States, launching the organization without savings, a formal roadmap, or a safety net. Over the next decade, she led the company to become a preferred provider for patients aged 16 and above with brain injuries and neurological disorders.
“Launching that company required a level of courage that stretched me beyond anything I had known,” she shared in her interview. “That season taught me that audacity isn’t about having everything you need; it’s about moving forward anyway, believing that what you carry is enough to begin.”
Her leadership journey also included a pivotal moment of personal growth when she recognized that the pressures of running a pioneering healthcare organization had unintentionally affected someone on her executive team. That realization reshaped her leadership philosophy and deepened her commitment to empathy-driven leadership.
“Leadership is not just about vision and execution; it’s about how people feel in your presence,” she explained, emphasizing the importance of balancing accountability with compassion.
Today, through the BE LED Group, Dr. Lewis equips emerging leaders, senior executives, HR directors, and collegiate students with structured leadership development, emotional intelligence training, and executive coaching. Her philosophy centers on the belief that effective leaders must themselves be guided.
“My company is named BE LED for a reason,” she said. “Every leader must BE LED, including me.”

In addition to her executive coaching practice, Dr. Lewis is expanding the Leaders BEing LED Summit and the Leaders BEing LED Collab, global platforms designed to create collaborative, transformational spaces for leaders across industries. She is also preparing to release a new book aimed at providing structured, high-impact leadership development tools for organizations.
“I am an audacious woman because my faith-driven courage, resilience, and commitment to being led create spaces where leaders feel seen, supported, and equipped to lead with confidence,” she stated.
GLEBM’s International Women’s Day 2026 Special Edition highlights influential women across industries who are shaping the future through innovation, courage, and measurable impact. The digital issue is now available through GLEBM’s official platforms.
