Eko Disco Names Wola Joseph-Condotti Interim CEO as Utility Navigates Sector Reforms
By GLEBM News Desk
Eko Disco has appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as interim CEO, tapping deep institutional experience as the utility responds to regulatory and transition pressures.
The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has appointed Wola JosephโCondotti as Interim Chief Executive Officer, positioning a long-serving executive to steer the utility through a demanding phase for Nigeriaโs power distribution segment.
The leadership change comes as distribution companies face heightened expectations to stabilise supply, comply with an increasingly complex regulatory framework, and prepare for a gradual shift toward cleaner energy solutionsโparticularly across Lagos, one of Africaโs most commercially active electricity markets.
Joseph-Condotti currently serves as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of West Power & Gas Limited, Eko Discoโs parent company. In that role, she has been closely involved in setting governance standards and operational priorities across the group, experience that industry watchers say will be critical during her interim tenure.
Her association with Eko Disco spans the period following Nigeriaโs power sector privatisation, when she was appointed the companyโs pioneer Chief Legal and Company Secretary. That role placed her at the centre of the utilityโs early restructuring, regulatory alignment, and corporate governance reforms.
Over time, her responsibilities expanded beyond legal oversight. Joseph-Condotti went on to occupy several senior management positions within the company, including Head of Regulatory Compliance, Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer, Supervising Chief of Customer Service, and Data Protection Officer.
Colleagues familiar with her work say this progression has given her a practical, end-to-end understanding of the utilityโs operationsโfrom regulatory obligations and workforce management to customer experience and data governanceโperspectives expected to shape leadership decisions in the months ahead.
Beyond her roles at Eko Disco, Joseph-Condotti is recognised within Nigeriaโs energy community for her engagement on renewable energy, sustainability, carbon markets, and carbon credits. Under her leadership, West Power & Gas has built a diversified portfolio that blends conventional power assets with renewable initiatives, reflecting an approach that balances near-term reliability with longer-term transition goals.
Eko Disco serves a dense mix of residential, commercial, and industrial customers across its franchise area. Analysts note that utilities operating in such high-demand corridors face acute pressure to improve service quality while adapting to regulatory reforms and evolving energy policies.
Joseph-Condottiโs interim appointment, they say, underscores the companyโs preference for continuity and institutional knowledge as it addresses operational challenges and positions itself within Nigeriaโs changing power landscape.
