Dr. LaKisha James Expands Global Impact Through Faith, Leadership, and Women’s Empowerment

Dr. LaKisha James, widely known as G.E.M. (Global Empowering Madam), is continuing to expand her global footprint as an entrepreneur, international bestselling author, and women’s empowerment leader whose journey reflects resilience, faith, and strategic vision.
Originally launching her career as an event planner, Dr. James built what is now recognized as The Dr. LaKisha Brand, a multifaceted platform encompassing global speaking, authorship, mentorship, event hosting, and international leadership roles. Her evolution from creative entrepreneur to global authority underscores her commitment to becoming what she describes as her “greater self.”
“I have taken the steps of becoming my greater self,” Dr. James shared. “Often times we don’t know the ability we have until we are put in position to lead.”

Dr. James has openly acknowledged navigating bankruptcy, financial hardship, two divorces, the emotional toll of supporting a child battling an eating disorder, and the heartbreak of experiencing a stillbirth at 36 weeks. She has also spoken candidly about her battle with depression and the decision to confront it with faith and determination.

In 2019, Dr. James was appointed Atlanta Chapter Leader for a global women’s empowerment organization, a milestone that solidified her leadership impact. She successfully grew the chapter from a one-person initiative to a team of 18, establishing one of the organization’s most impactful divisions.
“I have a duty to the masses,” she stated. “If I impact one person, I have done my job.”
Grounded in scripture and purpose, Dr. James emphasizes the importance of mindset, faith, and intentional action. She often references Isaiah 54:17 as a guiding principle: “No weapon formed against me shall prosper,” underscoring her belief that while challenges may arise, they will not prevail.
Looking ahead, she is focused on building a global legacy that will outlive titles and accolades. Her long-term vision includes establishing empowerment hubs in multiple countries and creating opportunities for women to rise into leadership with confidence.
