Paystack has introduced a new business development initiative aimed at equipping Nigerian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with practical skills to improve operations, strengthen financial management and accelerate business growth.
The payments technology company announced the launch of its Small Business Launchpad, a four-week intensive programme designed exclusively for active Paystack merchants operating SMEs across Nigeria.
Scheduled to commence on August 27, 2026, the inaugural cohort will accommodate up to 50 businesses, providing participants with direct access to business experts, mentorship sessions and practical workshops tailored to the everyday realities of running an enterprise.
Unlike conventional business training programmes, the initiative will focus on solving real operational challenges faced by entrepreneurs, including customer acquisition and retention, cash flow management, business operations and sustainable growth strategies.
Participants will also benefit from one-on-one office hours with experienced professionals, peer learning opportunities and direct engagement with Paystack’s team, allowing business owners to receive guidance on issues specific to their enterprises.
The programme builds on Paystack’s broader strategy to support merchants beyond payment processing. Earlier this year, the company introduced the Paystack Small Business Bundle, which offers eligible merchants discounted access to business tools and professional services through selected partners.
With the Launchpad programme, Paystack is extending that support by providing structured learning, practical business advisory services and opportunities for entrepreneurs to build valuable professional networks.
Speaking on the initiative, Jumoke Gbeleyi, Strategy and Operations Leader at Paystack, said many small business owners regularly make critical decisions with limited access to expert guidance, making practical support increasingly important.
According to her, the programme is designed to provide entrepreneurs with actionable knowledge that can be implemented immediately rather than theoretical business concepts.
She explained that participants will leave the programme with stronger business systems, clearer growth strategies and access to networks that can support long-term business development.
Applications are open to active Paystack merchants operating registered small and medium-sized businesses in Nigeria. Interested applicants will undergo an eligibility review, while successful candidates are expected to commit fully to the four-week programme.
The company stated that participants will pay a ₦150,000 participation fee, which covers access to the programme’s training sessions, expert mentorship and other learning resources.
Industry analysts say initiatives that combine financial technology with business development support are becoming increasingly important as SMEs continue to drive employment, innovation and economic growth across Nigeria.
With SMEs contributing significantly to the country’s private sector, programmes that strengthen entrepreneurial capacity and improve business resilience are expected to play a key role in helping enterprises scale sustainably despite prevailing economic challenges.
